LAZIO have been handed the same punishment as Celtic’s Glasgow rivals this week after some of the Italian club’s fans were found guilty of facsist behaviour RecordSport has revealed.

They will now have a section of their stadium closed for the visit of Rennes next month as UEFA crackdown on vile and unacceptable behaviour much like what has happened twice already at Ibrox this season

The charge relates to last season when Lazio took on Sevilla in the last 32 of the competition.

The club were shocked by Cluj on matchday one in the competition this time around and now they will be up against it when Rennes come to town.

Lazio will close the south east section of their stadium and put up UEFA banners in the empty section.

Celtic don’t head to Italy until later in the year. The bhoys now have a doubleheader at home against Cluj and then Lazio before going on their travels.

Any sort of fascist behaviour at Celtic Park would not be received well, to say the least, if it rears its ugly head.

  1. It is not really going to hurt the fascists much, given they generally only fill half the Olimpico. The only way it would is by closing the Curva Nord and their ultras. The south of the stadium is the home of the Roma fans. Wonder when the press will drag out Di Canio as right wing apologist for Lazio.
