CELTIC have been slapped with a €15k fine and Neil Lennon has apparently been censured by UEFA after the double header against Copenhagen.
In a move we knew nothing about, the club have been fined for a late kick off during the Europa League tie.
Rangers & Celtic punished by UEFA:
Rangers v Braga: Rangers fined €15,200 for a fan invading pitch & for throwing of fireworks
Rangers v Bayer Leverkusen: Rangers fined €5250 for throwing of objects
Copenhagen v Celtic: Celtic fined €15,000 for late ko. Neil Lennon censured— Raman Bhardwaj (@STVRaman) March 31, 2020
UEFA are trying to negotiate a shutdown but not before they hand out fines to clubs where they can take in cash.
The European governing body for football doesn’t mess around when it comes to any sort of rule breaking and they’ve not hesitated to hand Celtic a large fine this time.
Celtic have already been in front of UEFA a couple of times this season and the large fine could be due to that alone.
We are curious to see if the club will make any note of this with our supporters. Peter Lawwell was very vocal about Celtic fans costing the club fines, will he speak up over what’s gone on here. It’s unlikely we’ll stand up to UEFA.
I remember once UAFA made a club play their next game some 250 miles or so from their park for a bottle getting thrown at a player ,changed days indeed.
