A UEFA spokesperson has commented on the procedure involved in Ange Postecoglou being allowed to manage in Europe.
The manager doesn’t have the correct coaching badges to take charge at Celtic but the Hoops have put in an appeal, citing his 25 years of experience in the game as grounds for him getting the green light.
However, even if UEFA do allow the exemption, the spokesperson for the organisation has claimed it will likely take weeks for the go ahead throwing Celtic’s plans into further turmoil.
A Uefa spokesperson told SunSport: “Mr Postecoglou does not currently hold the Uefa Pro Licence.
“A recognition of competence procedure has been initiated. The process could take several weeks. We don’t have any further information to provide at this stage.”
This statement would back up Celtic’s pursuits of Ange.
Celtic don’t have the time to waste. Pre-season begins in the middle of June and our first Champions League qualifier will take place in the third week of July.
The bhoys need direction and quickly. The omnishambles the supporters have watched unfold is entirely unacceptable from a club the size of Celtic.
