The implications of a government cobra meeting early on Thursday has far reaching implications for everyone in the country.

Tonight Sky News are reporting the country will now move to the ‘delay’ phase to tackle the corona virus.

Delay phase may include but aren’t limited to.

  • School closures
  • People working from home
  • Major sporting events being cancelled or played behind closed doors.

This means there is fresh concerns over the SPFL going ahead with games this weekend.

There has been meetings all week between the SFA and SPFL, but the current stance is the games will go ahead.

However, the containment phase strategy might take the decision away from the Scottish football authorities.

This is unprecedented and many people within the game are scrambling to figure out what to do for the best.

A Premier League game between Arsenal and Manchester City has already been postponed this week.

Could Celtic’s trip to Ibrox be in jeopardy?

People’s health should be the biggest priority but the challenge of keeping people from large gatherings for the Glasgow Derby will be something the authorities will need to think about if the game goes ahead behind closed doors.
