Union Berlin have sent a classy message to Celtic and the support after sealing a deal for Josip Juranovic.

The right-back put pen to paper on a deal with the German side on Sunday morning, confirming his Celtic exit.

The Croatian helped restore Celtic to the top of Scottish football and played in the Champions League with the bhoys.

After 18-months, the title winning full back wanted to move on and the club have obliged. The transfer fee is believed to be around £8m but that’s depending on what report you listen to.

After being confirmed by Union Berlin, Celtic sent out a tweet on their official page. Union Berlin replied underneath:

We know how much you have treasured Josip, and how much he loved playing for Celtic. So please know that we’ll look after him, he’ll be a hero here, and even though there’s not as many of us here, we’ll try to shout his name as loud as you ever could. Cheers and love!

Celtic have already replaced JJ with the signing of Canadian full back Alistair Johnston. The defender has bedded in well and looks ready to take up the mantle.

There is likely to be a couple more outgoings and at least one incoming before the end of the window.
