Vakoun Issouf Bayo was all set to make his debut at Celtic Park on Wednesday night during Celtic’s SPFL match against Hibernian.

The player had done his warm up, got his tracksuit off and was standing in the technical area with Brendan Rodgers waiting for play to stop so he could get on the field.

The only problem was when the play stopped; it was because Emilio Izaguirre had been subject of a ridiculously dangerous tackle. The Honduran was in severe discomfort has he lay on the Celtic Park pitch and eventually had to be stretchered off.

As the stretcher came onto the field, Brendan Rodgers told Bayo he would have to go back to the bench so he could bring on Johnny Hayes for the injured Emilio.

It was very unlucky and now he will need to wait for his Parkhead bow, but it could come Sunday against St Johnstone.

The striker took to social media to express his disappointment but glad the team won the game.
