Nobody has been able to nail down Celtic’s thinking when it comes to who will be the next manager of the club. The media are playing darts blindfolded when they are trying to pick out what exactly the club will do in the coming weeks and months.

Mark Guidi believes he is in the know and told listeners live on-air he’s heard that John Kennedy is very much in the running for the Celtic job.

Not something many fans will support.

“John Kennedy, I’m told he is very much in the frame and if he has a good run between now and the end of the season particularly Scottish Cup being up for grabs, there is every chance that John Kennedy could become the next permanent manager at Celtic” Guidi told Clyde SSB.

We were lucky enough to be invited to a Celtic press conference last Friday where we got to talk to the interim Celtic manager, among other Celtic fan media outlets.

John spoke at length and came across very well during the 45-minute chat.

However, I don’t believe anyone sitting in that conference left thinking John should be handed the keys to the kingdom at the end of the season.

John might be knowledgeable and more tactically astute than Neil Lennon, but he’s not what Celtic need right now. Celtic isn’t what John needs now, if we’re honest. The end of the season would present a great opportunity for John to head out and earn his stripes elsewhere.

The Celtic job will be there in the future if he manages to perform. We hope whoever Guidi is speaking to is not a decision maker.

  1. Had his one and only chance against Dundee U, that didn’t go to well. You don’t get any further chances. Both he and the squads next game (if played) will be for pride. So was last weeks game. And we all viewed how that unfolded. Tickets for the Titanic anyone!!!!!!!!!!!
