LEIGH GRIFFITHS is ready to commit his long-term future to the club after it was revealed Celtic and his representatives are close very close to new terms.

The deal which will see the striker stay beyond the next two years that his contract still has to run will guarantee that Leigh is here for the ten in a row tilt.

Speaking about the deal, Leigh seems confident it will go through and that there’s no place he’d rather be.

“I’ve still got two-years left, so I am not sweating over it. I’m still looking to commit my long-term future here, but these things are never easy, these things take time.

“We need to iron out every detail, but I’m happy with my football here, when I am playing and scoring goals there is no place I’d rather be.”

Brendan Rodgers confirmed last week that the player was out due to illness but the Scottish international has been back training with the bhoys since Thursday and will likely play a part in Sunday’s trophy day match against Aberdeen.
