Celtic are reportedly on the verge of securing Adam Idah on a permanent deal, with the striker expected to make his second debut for the club in this Sunday’s Premiership opener against Kilmarnock. According to RecordSport, insiders suggest that the transfer is close to completion.
The Hoops have been in negotiations with Norwich City throughout the summer, with Brendan Rodgers eager to bring the Republic of Ireland international back to Parkhead after his impressive loan spell last season.
Idah made a significant impact during his time with Celtic, scoring vital goals that helped the club secure both the league title and the Scottish Cup. One of his standout moments was netting the winner against Rangers in the Cup Final, further cementing his place in the hearts of the Celtic support.
The 23-year-old has made no secret of his desire to rejoin the Hoops, and was even spotted holidaying with Celtic star James Forrest last month.
However, Idah finds himself in hot water with Norwich after missing a flight to the club’s pre-season camp in Austria. Although Norwich initially turned down a £4 million offer from Celtic, sources down south now indicate that a deal could be finalised within days.
Celtic fans have had a frustrating summer when it comes to transfers. The running joke is Bernardo has been confirmed so many times in the media we’ve signed the midfielder ten times. We should never count our chickens but hopefully we have some good news in the next few days with regards to both Bernardo and Idah.
