In recent weeks Everton Midfielder and Republic of Ireland international Aiden McGeady has been linked with a return to the Scottish Champions.
Many speculating that Aiden was not in Roberto Martinez plans going forward and they would look to offload him this summer.
Today the Everton Boss has laid these rumours to rest commenting that not only does he expect Aiden to be an Everton player next season, he wants him to be.
Speaking today Martinez was clear on the midfielders status.
“Aiden McGeady is an exceptional footballer and he has a talent that is very important for our squad.
“All we need now is to find a solution to that niggling hamstring problem that he has been carrying and I hope that Aiden can enjoy his football.
“There has not been a conversation with another club about a possible transfer. What I am looking for is for him to be fully fit.”
This will put an end to any hopes some may have had about the players return.
