Celtic Women make history this afternoon as they enter the draw for the Women’s Champions League.

The ghirls finished second place in the SWPL last season which gained them entry into the European competition.

Fran Alonso and his team beat the odds as they managed to stave off a very strong Rangers women side to grab this Euro spot.

Celtic will be unseeded in the draw today and are in the League path. The ghirls could come up against some very difficult opposition, but this is where the team wants and needs to be.

The only way we can grow as a team is if we regularly take part against Europe’s best sides.

When is the draw?

12pm Friday, 2 July.

Where can I watch?

The draw will be streamed live on the UEFA website.

  1. The woman’s game is an unwelcome distraction from the real football. The amount of unwarranted hype and unmerited marketing it gets is unfathomable for what is after all no more than a glorified primary school football level where tomboys and 10-0 scorelines are commonplace. It’s football, but not as we know it! I would rather watch paint dry which,as it happens, i have the opportunity to do now that i am decorating the house.

  2. Disagree Red, the woman’s game is getting bigger and bigger, attracting sponsorships and a following among the family and female support. Alot of the younger female support are inspired by these athletes, because that’s what they are Red, and that can only be a good thing.
I don’t know if I would watch a full 90, but I would certainly watch highlights of any of the woman’s games on CTV, and you never know, progression in The Champions League!?
    Full 90 no doubt!!
