There seems to be a concerted effort to talk up Celtic and play down Valencia by many within the Spanish camp before Thursday’s game.

There is a fine line between having respect for an opponent and laying it on thick and as we get closer, they appear to be doing the latter.

We have seen many clubs come here and struggle, but we have also seen European sides come and thrive in the hot atmosphere of Celtic Park. Salzburg were on another level during the group stage and showed us if teams can keep their cool they can do damage to Celtic.

The bhoys need to be wary of the lip service Valencia are paying the club at the moment. Let’s not buy into any hype and go into the game KNOWING we are the underdogs with a point to prove.

It’s going to a red hot night at Celtic Park – the last two Europa League ties at this stage in the competition over the past few years have ended 3-3 against Inter and 1-0 against Zenit. Something similar would send Celtic fans home happy.
