Ange Postecoglou has verbally agreed to become the next Tottenham manager with the only thing left to do is for the two clubs to agree compensation. [Fabrizio Romano]

The treble winning gaffer made it clear to Celtic over the weekend that he wanted the move and the board have been deep in discussions over their next move.

Ange leaves Celtic after only two years but with five out of six trophies in the bag having overseen a complete culture change at the club.

Many thought Ange would be here to see his project through. However, when it became clear he was Spurs choice to become manager, he wasn’t going to turn it down.

One Celtic insider told CeltsAreHere ‘The EPL has always been the goal for Ange. He grew up watching the league as a Liverpool fan in Australia’

Many people didn’t think Spurs could shake off the Scottish football snobbery to appoint a Celtic manager. But it’s testament to what Ange has done not just at Celtic but throughout his career.

This is a sore one to take for the Celtic fans who bought in big to Ange and his philosophy. We’re about to become a ship without a captain, and that will need to be addressed quickly.

  1. The Big fella wasted no time ‘enjoying the success’ or ‘savouring the moment’. Good grief he took the suit and tie off in the cab up the road. Was clearly talking to them all last week when he was fully focused on the Cup Final. To be fair he owes us nothing and this is the first deception and dishonesty that he has got up to. But off you jolly well pop. Moving on, already yesterday’s man.
