ODSONNE EDOUARD limped out of Celtic’s 3-0 win over Motherwell on Wednesday night after being instrumental in the first two goals against the Steelmen.

Celtic Park gasped as the player went down and received treatment during the SPFL tie. After a word with the manager, it was decided to bring the player off immediately.

This left Celtic with no recognised striker on the pitch for the rest of the night but more importantly, it left Celtic with no fit first-team strikers potentially for the rest of 2018.

Celtic were playing with fire only having two strikers to call upon, letting Moussa Dembele go even though we didn’t have a replacement lined up.

Leigh Griffiths is now taking much needed time away from the game, leaving the burden and hopes on Eddy, who for the most part, has done well under the circumstances.

With three more games left before the winter shutdown, the million dollar question is; will Celtic have a striker for the ties against Aberdeen and Ibrox away?

According to RecordSport, they might just have!

Speaking to a ‘source’ at Celtic Park – the injury to Edouard doesn’t look as bad as first feared.

“It didn’t look too clever on Wednesday night but the news has been more encouraging today.” The source said.”  It certainly looks as if the game against Dundee will be a bit too soon for Odsonne but the indications we’re getting suggest has a good chance of being ready for the matches against Aberdeen and Rangers.”

If Celtic can manage the game Dundee without the Frenchman so he’s fit for the final two games, it would be a massive boost.
