VICTOR WANYAMA left Celtic for Southampton over five years ago for around £12.5million.

Since then the midfielder won a move to Spurs and has played 78 times for the London outfit.

However, as the high flying White Hart Lane club look to mount a credible and sustained challenge for the Premier League title, it appears they are ready to let go of some of their talent to streamline and reshuffle for the second half of the season.

Reports claim former Celtic hero Victor Wanyama will be part of that clearout.

The midfielder has fallen out of favour and has only played in seven games so far this season, three in Cup competition and four in the league.

Spurs currently sit above Manchester City and are six points behind Liverpool at the top of the table.

If they can get rid of some top earners in the New Year, it could free up the club to go for a game-changing signing.

So what next for Victor?

His Spurs deal still has two-and-a-half years to run, so the ball is firmly in Wanyama’s court.

According to SillySeason.com, the midfielder is sitting on £70kpw, and although Spurs may prefer to move on the 27-year-old, they will still want a sizeable fee for his services.

This leaves Celtic well and truly out of the race, the Bhoy’s can’t even afford a ticket to get into the arena where the race is being held!

Victor hasn’t ruled out a return to Celtic at some point in his career, telling RecordSport just last year he would be open to the idea of a second Parkhead stay.

It doesn’t seem feasible for the club but what a signing it would be if Celtic could somehow make it happen. Of course, we put the percentage of Wanyama ever playing for the Hoops again at 1% but in true dumb and dumber style.
