Neil Lennon confirmed in September he attempted to bring Victor Wanyama back to Celtic in the summer window after it became apparent He didn’t feature in Spurs’ plans as reported by SunSport.

Since then it’s all gone quiet but according to reports on Wednesday afternoon – the player has been placed on the transfer list by the London club and they’ll look to offload the midfielder in January. According to The Times – the Kenyan has been told he’s free to find a new club.

Celtic need reinforcements in the middle of the park and need a player who can help Scott Brown out so he doesn’t have to play so many games in a season.

With Lennon keen and Wanyama most likely to make a Spurs exit – is there a deal to be done?

Wanyama’s fee and wages the obvious stumbling block but could Celtic cut a deal with the English Premier League side to bring Victor home?

It will be interesting to see if Celtic do go back and try their luck.
