ALBIAN AJETI scored the winning goal for his loan club Sturm Graz as they booked their place in the quarter final of the Austrian Cup.

The on-loan Celtic striker made it three goals in four games for Graz and appears to be finding his feet for the club. An injury slowed down Albian’s start earlier this season, however, he’s making up for lost time.

We all know Ajeti doesn’t have a future at the club. Getting him out on loan and giving him the confidence to go and score goals will help the Hoops get some sort of transfer fee for the player in the summer.

Signed for the pandemic season, the Swiss striker was supposed to be the poacher we needed – but it never materialised. When Ange came into the club, we had to lean on Albian a bit when injuries to both Kyogo and Giakoumakis occurred, but when one or both were fit, the striker didn’t get a look in.

Just because he hasn’t made it at Celtic doesn’t mean he’s a bad player. We have seen in the past many strikers who falter at the Hoops carve out a decent career for themselves; Teemu Pukki the most recent example of this.
