Ange Postecoglou has been handed a further injury boost, with Croatian right-back Josip Juranovic returning to first-team training.

The 26-year old full-back has been missing from action since the Hoops drew 1-1 at home against Dundee United after picking up a hamstring injury which forced him to miss several fixtures.

However, in a video posted by the club this evening – Juranovic can be spotted training alongside his teammates (0.26) as they prepare for Saturday’s fixture against St Johnstone.

We have yet to see the full extent of the summer signing under Postecoglou, with Juranovic being forced to play both right and left-back at times.

He is off the mark in terms of goals for the club, scoring his first from the penalty spot against Real Betis. A penalty taker looks like it will be something we need after Callum McGregor’s miss on Tuesday.

Despite Anthony Ralston stepping in and performing well, completing a turnaround in his Celtic career, which looked all but over, you would imagine that Juranovic is seen as the first-choice option.

Of course, that doesn’t mean there won’t be minutes for both players, and he will have to earn his spot in the side back after another good showing from the Scottish right-back on Tuesday.

Slowly but surely, though, we are starting to see a return to full strength, with more players returning from injury and giving Ange Postecoglou more options to pick from in his squad.
