It’s been an excellent international break for Celtic midfielder Bernardo, who made his mark for Portugal U21s with a standout performance in their 2-0 victory over Croatia.

The young talent scored the opening goal in the 50th minute, showing his attacking instincts and confidence at international level. This form comes at a crucial time, with Bernardo proving he can deliver for both club and country.

Just before heading off on international duty, Bernardo played a key role in Celtic’s 3-0 win against Rangers at Celtic Park.

Watch his goal below:

His doggedness and energy in midfield helped secure the Derby victory, cementing his place in Brendan Rodgers’ starting XI. However, the competition is ramping up, with new signings Arne Engels and Luke McCowan joining the squad on deadline day.

Bernardo now faces the challenge of holding onto his spot in a crowded midfield. His performances against Rangers and Croatia will surely give Rodgers a selection headache as the midfielder looks to continue his run of good form.

With a strong few weeks behind him, Bernardo will be determined to show he’s ready for even more responsibility as Celtic chase further success this season. Will he get the nod against Hearts?
