CONOR HAZARD made his debut for Northern Ireland on Sunday evening against the US and didn’t get off to a good start.

Northern Ireland lost 2-1 on the night but it was the penalty against Chelsea man Pulusic that didn’t cover the Celtic goalkeeper in glory.

The USA international hit the ball fairly down the middle and not at much pace but the reactions from Hazard were poor and certainly weren’t in keeping with his Scottish Cup heroics back in December.

The lack of first team game time to this point has to play a part in Conor’s rough edges. He’s yet to show why he should be Celtic number one or even number two.

The player will learn from this but at 23, he’s dangerously close from being able to be called a youngster and one for the future.

Keep in mind Ajer is 22 and Edouard is 23-years-old. We know goalkeepers can finish much later so there is time for Conor to come good. He will have to show more about him in his next performance.
