Celtic Women have the bragging rights this evening after defeating Rangers Women yet again.

The Ibrox club have invested much more in their women’s side to this point and many speculated after the lockdown it would be a straight shoot out between Rangers Women and Glasgow City. Not a chance!

Fran Alonso and his team always find a way to win and they managed a 2-1 victory against the Ibrox club on their own patch.

Goals from the captain Kelly Clark and Sarah Ewans won the game and the day for Celtic as they leapfrog their rivals into second spot and that coveted Champions League position.

The Hoops have deserved their place in the league after their incredible run since the restart.

It was two set pieces that were Rangers women undoing on the day, fantastic delivery both times and two superb finishes.

The league title is still a possibility, but before we start dreaming we need to now consolidate and make sure Rangers women don’t get a sniff of the Champions League spot again this term.
