CELTIC look to have a real talent on their hand when it comes to Rocco Vata who is continuing to light up the Celtic B team.

The 16-year-old has scored some wonderful goals and continues to play well above his age bracket.

Rocco is the son of former Celtic player Rudi Vata, and the way things are going, it might not be too long before we have a Vata in the first team once again.

The youngster is taking advantage of Celtic’s participation in the Lowland League this season; an agreement that only runs until the end of the season at the moment. We can only hope the club strike a deal with the Lowland clubs to make this a permanent thing so our young players can get valuable experience.

Rocco scored another fantastic goal at the weekend, the club putting out the highlights of the game against East Stirlingshire, the Irish under-17 international scoring the only goal of the game.

After the match, B Team manager Tommy McIntyre raved about Rocco to Celtic TV:

“We got a great goal. I thought it was a fabulous goal. He was probably the best player on the night so he deserved the goal.

“He’s got to get a lot of credit himself. He’s just natural. He plays and we coach him but he’s got to perform on the day. He’s certainly taking everything on board we’re trying to get out of him. There’s more to come from him, there’s no doubt, but he’s young. What a fantastic goal tonight.”

Rocco is currently contracted to Celtic until 2024, we can see that deal being extended!

Ultimately, we don’t want to put too much pressure on the young lad, but the signs are positive.
