ODSONNE EDOUARD thought he had scored Celtic’s first goal of the 20/21 campaign but after several minutes the goal was chopped off by VAR and we’re unsure why.
The last touch appears to come of a Nice player so the Frenchman cannot be offside. It was a cool finish by Eddy who looked like he hadn’t missed a beat in the 131 days since his last game.
Have a look below.
Odsonne Édouard rounds the Nice keeper and finishes it off with great composure, but it's eventually disallowed by VAR for offside ❌
A strong Celtic start, but they'll have to wait a little longer for an opener yet ? pic.twitter.com/E8DT65UYz6

Celtic dominated the early going of the game and would have been good value for their lead on three minutes if the goal was rightfully given.
Neil Lennon has started with a very strong side which could likely start the first game in the SPFL against Hamilton in early August. Wholesale changes later in the game are always expected in pre-season and the game does really fall apart and lose its rhythm.
The most important thing is fitness levels and gaining match sharpness.
Can’t believe they’re using VAR in a friendly!?!?!? He did look a shade off though…
