Aaron Hickey is someone Celtic tried to re-sign on multiple occasions before the youngster left for Serie A – even this summer there were murmurings of fresh Celtic interest.

The former academy left back had a slow start to his Italian adventure through injury. This season, he’s starting to kick into high gear and is now contributing with goals.

The defender was part of the Bologna side that smashed Lazio 3-0 in Serie A – getting on the score sheet in the process with an excellent finish.

Hickey spent two spells at Celtic but ultimately left both times because he couldn’t see a route through to the first team. From the outside, the player seems like an extremely driven individual who puts game time and progress among everything else.

We can’t help but be impressed with how Aaron is getting on, he’s a good Celtic fan too, and it’s great to see the wee man excelling. Never say never when it comes to a Celtic transfer, right now, the Scottish born star should continue his development in a top league.
