Former Celtic defender Cristian Gamboa has scored a brilliant goal to put his side, VFL Bochum, 3-1 up against European giants Bayern Munich.

The Costa Rican internationalist is now playing his football in Germany with the Bundesliga side, and is currently playing his part in an incredible game which sees Bochum 4-1 up at half-time.

Five minutes before the break Gamboa picked the ball up and smashed a brilliant effort into the top corner of the net.

The right-back certainly wasn’t known for his goal scoring ability in Glasgow.

You could even go as far to say he wasn’t known for playing in the Green and White given his lack of game time under Brendan Rodgers.

However, the 32-year old appears to be enjoying his football over in Germany and will be hoping that his side can hold out for the three points after taking an emphatic first-half lead.
