ANGE POSTECOGLOU sat in front of the mainstream media this morning as he gets prepared to fly out to Spain for his first Europa League group stage tie.

The Australian made the revelation that Celtic captain Callum McGregor hasn’t made it after picking up a knock against Ross County. Callum was substituted in the second half of the three-nil win at home to the Staggies.

It’s a big blow for Celtic to lose their captain and the engine of the midfield. It will be up to others to help fill the void in the middle of the park.

The call-offs didn’t end there for Celtic with the manager also confirming Liel Abada is out due to religious reasons and Greg Taylor will need shoulder surgery.

It’s hardly ideal and speaks to the fact we’re still a bit short on depth even after bringing in so many players in the summer.

Ange knows the task ahead of them and Celtic were always going to find it tough with the likes of Callum in the side, without him, we will have to play above ourselves to get a result.
