Well before he signed for Celtic, I remember having a good laugh at Joe Hart after he turned up in a shampoo advert for head and shoulders.
Playing for Man City and England at the time, the goalkeeper used his status to cash in on some advertising opportunities. The one that’s always stuck out is the head and shoulders advert. The premise of the ad is Joe going down with what looks like a head knock, but we quickly found out he’s gone down with a bad case of a dandruff. The physio applies some head on shoulders on the pitch and Joe is back to his best.
When Hart signed for Celtic, we knew it was always going to come up – especially with the slagging culture in Scottish football.
It has been brought up a few times. Our socials even took part in it when Joe actually went down with a head knock and the Celtic physio had to give the Englishman treatment to his head on the pitch.
If Joe thought heading to Australia with the bhoys would mean he was free from a roasting, he would’ve thought wrong.
Here’s a brilliant video of fans at the official training day at the Allianz stadium. The supporter has brought some shampoo for Joe to sign and goes out his way to grab the former England international’s attention.
Joe eventually comes over and even cracks a smile as he signs the bottles.
The Celtic goalkeeper has been a breath of fresh air at the club. We had preconceived notions of what Joe’s attitude might be, and we have to admit how wrong we were. Hart is a leader and has helped elevate this Celtic side.
Big joe Rinsed by oz hoops fans …he.ll be tearing his wig out when we get the tee shirt made for his return to parkhead head n shoulders above wee Kyogo “
