Celtic’s loan signings over the past couple of years have mostly brought success. Since Patrick Roberts ripped the SPFL apart in his first season the Celtic board seem to think they can keep plucking winners from the loan honey hole.

The problem Celtic fans have with the likes of Roberts is that he’s not theirs for keeps. The Celtic board broke the mould though at the start of the season when they splashed record cash for Edouard at 9 million pounds.

Timo Weah and Oli Burke burst onto the Celtic Park stage in January with fans very quickly looking for permanent signatures. At over 13 million pounds, Oliver Burke seems way out of reach of a Celtic budget. But in an unusual move for a loan player, Burke has declared he wants to stay at Celtic.

Burke seems to have falling out of favour since Lennon took over the reins. In truth, he was never an out and out striker despite some impressive performances as a lone front man. Burke seems to have his mind made up and a positive experience tomorrow in a Glasgow derby may make the player more adamant about a permanent move to the champions.
