Former Celtic left-back and academy graduate, Kieran Tierney has pulled Arsenal back on level terms as they look to complete the comeback in their Europa League tie against Benfica.

The left-back showed some good close control in the box before blasting the ball home into the far bottom corner to make it 2-2 as the English Premier League side try to avoid an early exit in the Round of 32 in the Europa League.

Tierney of course has a history of some European goals in Glasgow, playing a part in the 2nd goal in Celtic’s tie against Manchester City back in 2016.

Possibly a more memorable goal would be his opener in one of the modern-day great ties which saw Celtic defeat, RB Leipzig, in the Europa League group stage in the 2018/19 season.

Many fans love to see players like KT do well. It goes to show what players from the Celtic Academy and Scotland can go on to do well.

At the same time though, with the circumstances of this season, it will likely remind a lot of fans of some better times that we saw over the last few years.

Kieran inspired Arsenal to victory after staring at a Europa League exit. Helping his club win 3-2 in the end.
