Luis Palma is making headlines for his country during this international break with Honduras. The winger, currently on loan at Olympiacos, continued his fine form for his country by netting again in their latest outing.

Palma found the net in Honduras’ 2-0 victory over Bermuda, a result that sealed their place in the upcoming CONCACAF Gold Cup. It marked the winger’s fourth goal for Honduras and his second against Bermuda in quick succession, having also bagged a brace in a thrilling 5-3 win earlier in the international break.

After arriving at Celtic in 2023, Palma initially looked like a decent acquisition under Brendan Rodgers. He hit the ground running, racking up 10 goals and as many assists in just four months. But he failed to replicate that in the second half of last season and found himself on the outside looking in on many occasions.

Since making the switch to Greece, Palma has featured eight times for Olympiacos, scoring once and assisting another.

Still, his future at Celtic remains murky. Palma’s current contract keeps him on the books, but it’s unclear whether Brendan Rodgers sees a role for him next season. His recent upturn in form—particularly on the international stage—will likely not be enough to save his Celtic career.
