Neil Lennon landed his first silverware with his new club Omonia with a penalty shootout victory in the final of the Cypriot Cup. The feat was made even more impressive because his team was down to 10 men after 5 minutes of the final.

However, the former Celtic manager would also see red in extra time for finally losing it with the referee who came over to book the Irishman for his touchline antics. When the referee brandished the yellow, Neil shouted and sarcastically clapped at the official which saw the ref brandish a red. Neil Lennon then looked like he wanted to have a go at the ref.

Watch below:

Neil was said he was mellowing with age, but this video seems to counteract that assertion. For context, this was a massive game for Lennon – Omonia hasn’t even been in a final in the past ten years never mind winning silverware.

After the fans watched the passion from the manager at the side of the pitch and then watched their team win on penalties, I have a feeling they have found a new hero.

This was the Irishman’s first silverware as manager since the quadruple treble final at Hampden.
