Neil Lennon has headed back over to on Thursday morning to have a real go at Leigh Griffiths after the striker’s comments on Wednesday.

Leigh said he let himself down but was fit enough during the season to play – he blamed some of the coaching staff for not playing him and refusing to believe he was fit.

Neil Lennon absolutely went in on Leigh this morning.

The former Celtic manager said he let himself down, he was on full pay for three months and came back a stone overweight. He told Leigh to not bring other players into the conversation when talking about last season.

The media drive Neil Lennon has been on to absolve himself of this season has been incredible.

Leigh was absolutely wrong for his fitness levels last summer. He has admitted that but the divergence comes later that season when Leigh claimed he was fit and Neil Lennon along with John Kennedy believed otherwise.

The Irishman is making it clear to everyone he would have played Leigh had he believed the player was fit.

  1. Neil has every right to defend himself here.
Leigh is trying to flame Neil for his own short comings when he knows Lenny’s getting it tight from the Celtic support. Desperate stuff.
Leigh should do himself a favour and not draw attention to this fiasco and concentrate on getting himself straight for what’s coming and restoring some confidence with the Celtic Support instead of drawing attention to it and blaming anyone but himself.

  2. Leigh even not fully fit is way better than any other option we had last season..
Admit your failure Neil, and move on .
