Celtic’s second goal was key on Sunday to make sure there were no late scares against a stubborn Raith Rovers side.

The Hoops were 1-0 up from the first half but were finding it difficult to get the second.

Giakoumakis got a well deserved goal, but we don’t believe enough credit is being given to Reo Hatate for his part in proceedings.

Check it out again if you haven’t rewatched; an inch perfect pass from the Japanese midfielder set Jota on his way.

Reo has shown his range of passing since coming to the club. He can carve open stubborn defences with a bit of magic and it was no different here. The midfielder has already become an important part of the team.

Before Sunday, Hatate hadn’t played a full 90 minutes for the club. Ange cited the fact Reo came in not long after the end of the Japanese season as a reason to be cautious over the player’s fitness. Reo managed to get a full 90 minutes in his legs on Sunday and looked the part.

Roll on Thursday!
