A video has appeared online from a St Johnstone fan page of an official team bus taking the League Cup trophy past Celtic Park after their victory this afternoon.

The Saints became the 2nd most successful club in the country over the last decade behind Celtic and the first side to win a domestic trophy that isn’t Celtic since the 2015/16 season.

After their 1-0 victory against Livingston, an official club bus decided to take a detour from the National Stadium past Parkhead to poke some fun at their victory.

It is a light-hearted show by the new League Cup holders as they look to enjoy picking up the silverware.

In the video, a member of the St Johnstone staff shouts ‘we have got your cup’ so it is nice to see the admission that it is ours after years of success in the competition.

In all seriousness though, when it comes to football this is the sort of harmless banter you see between fans/clubs that makes it unique and special at times.

Congratulations once again to them on picking up the trophy but we will be on our way to win it back next season.

  1. Right thoughtful of them to show it it’s proper home one more time before it goes to their “trophy room” for a wee spell… It’ll be back next year Bhoys and Ghirls. Let the Saints bask in it for a bit and lets just be glad that cup isn’t in worse hands!
