Would you believe it’s been ten years since Shunsuke Nakamura left Celtic at the age of 31 and as we sit nearing the end of 2019 the midfielder is still going strong in professional football.

The Celtic icon now plays for Yokohama FC and shows no signs he’s lost his touch when it comes to striking a ball. Playing in Yokohama’s 2-1 victory over Tokyo Verdy overnight – the Japanese star scored his first goal of the season and what a hit it was.

Nakamura was a very special player who delivered some outstanding moments for the Celtic support; from his free-kick against Manchester Utd to winning the league at Rugby Park with the last kick of the ball.

He is a special player and can still show the quality he possesses at the age of 41. I don’t think Celtic have had anyone who could take set pieces as consistently as Naka did over his time at the club.
