It was only a few weeks ago that Bobby Madden suggested that the new forty plus rules coming into the Scottish game would result in a lot more penalties.
But just not for Celtic.
Bobby Madden said the change to the handball rule "will result in more penalties being given" failed to mention

Yesterday in the English Premier League, current champions Man City were playing Spurs at home. In injury time, Man City scored what looked like a perfectly legal goal only for VAR to rule it as a handball. On any other season, the goal would have stood but the new rules meant City lost out on 3 points. The handball in the City game was nowhere near as blatant as this one.
Yesterday’s ref, John Beaton was famously pictured in a Rangers bar but somehow he is still allowed to referee Celtic games. That was not lost on Celtic TV commentary as Tom Boyd called it.

Celtic’s performance was not up to the mark yesterday and poor refereeing is no excuse for the performance.
