CELTIC ran out emphatic 5-0 winners against Hearts on Wednesday nights so the players and support were already in great spirits. However, what was unfolding down the road at Rugby Park gave everyone cause for more celebration.
The bhoys went about their business in a clinical fashion, especially in the second half and made light work of Hearts in the end.
Edouard saw his free kick go just over the bar when it was 4-0 before a rapturous applause went round Celtic Park – Killie had equalised!
A minute later the ball was in the back of the net again for Celtic, this time Jozo Simunovic got his name on the scoresheet.
With the game in the bag there was one eye on the result elsewhere and as the game was drawing to a close a thunderous cheer bellowed out at Celtic Park – it was 2-1 Kilmarnock, The Rangers had bottled it was the message and the fans began to party.
After the game the Celtic Park announcer announced the latest scores with the game at Rugby Park still going on. When the full time result did come through, Ryan was caught on TV having a look at the big screen.
