Celtic’s 3-1 win over Hibernian may have sealed another step toward a record-breaking league campaign, but it was a moment of steel from Adam Idah that stole the spotlight at Celtic Park on Saturday.

The Irish striker, who netted the second goal of the afternoon, found himself in the middle of a flashpoint after Hibs defender Jack Iredale attempted to rough up Nicolas Kühn in a second-half exchange. With Celtic already 2-1 ahead, Kühn had been proving a constant menace down the flank, his quick feet drawing frustration from a Hibs side chasing shadows.

That frustration boiled over when Iredale—considerably larger in stature than Kühn—grabbed hold of the German winger in what was a clear act of intimidation. The Hibs defender, already carrying himself with a chip on his shoulder throughout the game, appeared to try and unsettle Kühn with a show of aggression. It backfired.

Idah, never one to shirk responsibility, immediately sprinted over and got in Iredale’s face, making it known that the physical targeting of his teammate wouldn’t go unchecked. The confrontation drew cheers from the home crowd, who appreciated seeing their forward not only scoring goals but protecting his teammate.

Kuhn was inexplicably shown a yellow card in the typical, both sides must be at fault refereeing decision.

Minutes later, Reo Hatate scored the third with a crisp finish, effectively putting the game beyond reach. The flashpoint may not have influenced the scoreline directly, but it underlined the togetherness Brendan Rodgers has fostered within this Celtic squad.

Idah’s intervention wasn’t just about physical presence—it sent a clear message that this Celtic team looks after its own. With the title already secured, Rodgers may rotate in the final two league fixtures. But Saturday’s show of unity—on and off the scoresheet—sets the tone heading into the Scottish Cup final.
