Celtic are away to Aberdeen tonight in the SPFL as they look to maintain top spot in the league.

The first quarter of an hour was scrappy from both teams but Celtic hit twice in quick succession to give the Bhoys a 2-0 cushion just before the 20-minute mark.

Jota slotted away this O’Reilly pass for the first goal.

Then the provider scored a fortunate goal himself with this wicked deflection.

It is a relief to get these goals as the game looked scrappy in the first quarter and now Aberdeen look a bit shell shocked.

While Pittodrie is a tough venue the Hoops are unbeaten in 11 away league trips to Aberdeen (W9 D2) since going down 2-1 in February 2016 under Ronny Delia.

Aberdeen has only won one of their last 22 league meetings with Celtic (D3 L18) and are winless in 13 such clashes (D3 L10) since a 1-0 win in May 2018. Hopefully Aberdeen will play as bad in the second half but to be honest Celtic haven’t really got out of first gear either.

  1. Got away with it tonight.

Didnt play well & 2nd half there was a spell where Aberdeen looked like scoring at every attack.

Fortunately we settled down and were pretty comfortable in last 15 mins.

In a tight title race, we cant afford a repeat of tonights performance
