FORMER Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk felt compelled to take to his social media account after he was misquoted in the press when talking about his time at Celtic.
It was written that the big Dutch defender had said he had learned more at Southampton in a short space of time than he ever did at Celtic.

This left many Celtic fans annoyed and ultimately confused as they seen the player grow into his role at Celtic and also witnessed the nights he struggled. The player definitely left Celtic a more well-rounded defender than the one that came in.

Since that headline Virgil himself has come out and set the record straight on the issue.

Here is what he tweeted to the Celtic fans:

Another classic example of not taking the press at face value. I’m sure they got what they wanted from the headline, and they will no doubt be looking for the next bout of sensationalism as we speak.
