Celtic face Aberdeen in the Scottish cup this weekend and Virgil Van Dijk is taking nothing for granted as he looks to win his first honours in senior football.

“It’s going to be a tough game. The games we played against Aberdeen already this season were hard games.

“To win prizes is a very big thing for me. The last time I won prizes was when I was a young kid.”

Van Dijk has been one of the stand outs this season in a Celtic jersey, playing a major part in Celtic’s unbeaten league run and Fraser Forsters clean sheet record – a record that the defender is proud of.

“The back four and Fraser are doing a good job and the whole team should be proud of the record we’ve set” said Van Dijk.

He now looks to push on and get some well deserved medals under his belt. He knows Saturday will be pivotal to that dream.
