Celtic defender Carl Starfelt has insisted he enjoys playing alongside defensive partner Cameron Carter Vickers, as the Swedish defender refused to comment on the possibility of a permanent deal.

After a tricky start to life at Parkhead, Starfelt has really settled in, wearing the Green and White Hoops under Ange Postecoglou.

Many fans have also been left impressed with the partnership between Starfelt and Carter Vickers this season, with both joining in the summer and going on to become key players in the side.

As quoted by Daily Record, Starfelt isn’t getting dragged into commenting on the possibility of CCV signing permanently but was keen to state how much he enjoys playing with the American internationalist.

“Cameron’s been a very good player for us, and I enjoy playing with him a lot. It’s not my decision as to what will happen there, but we will wait and see.”

Looking at games such as yesterday’s 7-0 win over St Johnstone, it would be easy to suggest that both Starfelt and Carter Vickers wouldn’t have much to do.

But with the way Ange has this side playing, the two central defenders are still playing a vital role in the build-up, which was evident in the sixth goal on Saturday.

With the success the two players have enjoyed, you would imagine Ange Postecoglou is keen to tie Carter Vickers down on a permanent deal, continuing the defensive partnership going into next season.
