Former Celtic striker Adam Idah was the hero for Swansea City on Friday night, coming off the bench to score a 91st-minute winner in a dramatic Welsh derby clash against Wrexham.
The £6m summer departure from Celtic latched onto a mistake from Wrexham keeper Arthur Okonkwo, who dropped a looping header from Ben Cabango into the striker’s path. Idah couldn’t believe his luck as he tapped home from a yard out to snatch a 2-1 win.

The last-gasp finish brought back vivid memories for Celtic fans, who will recall the Irishman’s late winner in the 2024 Scottish Cup final against Rangers.
That day, it was another goalkeeping error – Jack Butland spilling a Paulo Bernardo shot – that allowed Idah to pounce in the 90th minute and seal silverware for the Hoops.
Celtic let Idah go in the summer without a replacement lined up. Kelechi Iheanacho was brought in only after the window shut and has since struggled with hamstring issues. With the Nigerian now sidelined again, fans will be left wondering why a proven match-winner like Idah wasn’t retained or replaced sooner.
Without rewriting history, he was a player who could come off the bench to score a goal, despite struggling for form towards the end of his Celtic spell.
Nancy’s squad is thin, and moments like last night in Wales are a brutal reminder of what Celtic let go.
