Former Celtic left-back Alexandro Bernabei has produced a stunning goal in Brazil, scoring an absolute screamer for Internacional.

The Argentine defender moved to Brazil last January after leaving Celtic, where his time was mixed but not without moments that made headlines.

Bernabei made 28 appearances in green and white after arriving from Lanús in 2022, scoring once during a league match away to Ross County.

That goal, however, pales in comparison to his latest effort.

During Internacional’s weekend victory over São Luiz, a cleared corner dropped invitingly to Bernabei more than five yards outside the box. Without hesitation, the full-back struck the ball cleanly on the volley, sending it screaming into the top corner and leaving the goalkeeper with no chance. It was a strike of real quality and technique.

Bernabei’s contribution did not end there. He also registered an assist in the same match, capping an impressive all-round performance as Internacional secured the win. The left-back has settled well in Brazil and continues to be a regular feature for the Porto Alegre side.

There has been recent interest from clubs in Spain, with Bernabei’s form not going unnoticed, but for now he remains part of Internacional’s plans. Performances like this will only strengthen his profile.
