Celtic’s under 18s took played out a thrilling Youth Cup final at Hampden on Wednesday evening as they defeated Rangers by six goals to five.

The young Hoops were on the ball, playing some well put together football that very much mirrored the first team’s electric style.

Early doors, the Hoops went behind but soon found themselves 2-1 up. Rangers then made it 2-2 before Celtic regained their lead. The Gers soon 4-3 up in the second half with the Bhoys levelling it up at 4-4 on the hour mark.

The scoreline stayed like this for a while before Stuart McLaren’s men hit the front in extra time. They soon went 6-4 up with a brilliantly worked goal and despite a late Rangers strike, Celtic won the Scottish Youth Cup courtesy of a wonderful 6-5 victory.

To play at the national stadium in a derby and in a cup final would’ve been an amazing experience for the young Celtic side.

The fact they tasted victory made it even better with their win continuing the Hoops’ cross city dominance.
