Celtic Women defeated Glasgow City in a crucial clash at Parkhead on Thursday evening.

Fran Alonso’s Ghirls walked away worthy 3-1 winners over the league leaders thanks to goals from Natasha Flint, Claire O’Riordan and Kit Loferski.

The former got the Hoops level on the hour mark with a powerfully accurate strike into the bottom corner to send The Celtic End into raptures:

Then 15 minutes after this, O’Riordan was on the scoresheet, nodding home from a corner to give the Ghirls a crucial lead:

The record breaking 9,553 fans inside Celtic Park were then noisy yet again on 82 minutes as Kit Loferski latched on to a wonderful ball from over the top and slotted home with composure:

This goal all but wrapped up the three points for Celtic and secured a win which ensured they remained well in the title race.

With two games to go, the Ghirls are just two points behind Glasgow City.

It remains to be seen whether or not Alonso and his side will do it although after last night, it is certain the whole Celtic support will be behind them.
