It was an emotional day at Hampden as Celtic clinched a world record breaking eighth treble in their history.

The sun was out and the bhoys put on a show for the final time this season.

With no disrespect to Inverness, it felt like the hard work to win this competition came in the semi-final when we knocked out our Glasgow rivals. While the highland club made a good account of themselves, it was always going to be a tough ask to beat the Celtic juggernaut.

The uncertainty surrounding the future of Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou only served to heighten the emotion at full time. Supporters unsure if they were waving Ange off to pastures new as they serenaded him.

One really emotional moment was during you’ll never walk alone. The Celtic fans in full voice as ever, but as the song reached its crescendo, Ange Postecoglou stopped to take it all in. He stood in awe of the Celtic support and just listened. At the end he clearly checks himself because it looked like he was about to cry.

If you’re a body language expert you would think there was something more significant going on than just a manager watching his supporters celebrate in style.

If Ange leave in the next few days it will draw the curtain down on an amazing two years at the club, but with a team still very much mid-project, there’s more exciting times to come.
