AZ Alkmaar proved they were a step up in class for Celtic tonight early on when they should have gone 0-1 up in the first five minutes only for a brilliant Joe Hart save. The English shot-stopper is what the football club was missing big time last season.

With Bain or Barkas in goal Celtic would have been down 1 nil down and the Dutch side could have slowed the game down and controlled the play or just set back and clogged the Celtic attack.

Ange Postecoglou only made one change to the team that defeated Hearts 3-2 in Sunday’s Premier Sports Cup and that consistency in the starting eleven is paying dividends with the attacking play getting more fluid with each passing game.

A brilliant piece of play from Tom Rogic set up Kyogo to score Celtic’s first goal, the Japanese superstar volleying home to keep his unbelievable scoring form red hot.

This goal was a bit more fortunate but it came at the right time as the Dutch outfit were starting to get a grip in the game.

  1. 2 won’t be enough. Second best in the second half to a good side. The scramble at the end would have made it a bit better at 3-0. I think they may score 3 or 4 will we get 1. I don’t know. Ralston is getting better and it is a pity that he cannot cross the ball as the Croat seems to be excellent at that and Ange will ultimately prefer that. We have hope though.
