Celtic women made history yesterday afternoon, winning their maiden SWPL title courtesy of a last-minute Amy Gallacher strike.
The Ghirls couldn’t have won the league more dramatically, with the title almost destined to head to Ibrox before the forward finished in the closing stages.
Ex-manager Fran Alonso congratulated Elena Sadiku and Co. on their triumph as he watched on from afar.
Alonso’s replacement came into the club in February. Taking over from the Spaniard was going to be a difficult gig for Sadiku given his adoration from the supporters, but the Swede has done an admirable job.
She has masterminded a title win which has long been in the making and post-match on Sunday, her press conference was hilariously interrupted by a few celebrating players:

A weekend to remember for Celtic supporters across the globe, the last few days will go down in history.
The Ghirls doing the business yesterday meant that for the first time in Scottish football, the men’s and women’s teams of the same club won their respective top flights.
Such an achievement should not be overlooked and is a testament to Brendan Rodgers, Sadiku, and all the players.
