Celtic supporters made their presence felt at Ibrox in more ways than one during Sunday’s 1-1 derby draw as they brilliantly trolled Rangers with a tongue-in-cheek singalong to the home side’s pre-match anthem.

As both sets of players walked out onto the pitch, Tina Turner’s “Simply the Best” blared through the stadium, as is tradition at Ibrox. But with no guard of honour from the hosts for the newly crowned Scottish Premiership champions, the Celtic end found their own way to mark the moment.

Instead of jeering or ignoring the track, the Hoops support embraced the irony—singing along, fists in the air, and belting out the chorus with full voice. Champions for the fourth season in a row, and now chasing a sixth domestic Treble in nine years, Celtic fans had every reason to celebrate—and every reason to enjoy the dig.

No guard of honour? No problem. Celtic are “better than all the rest” anyway.

With Rangers now without a home win against Celtic in their last seven games at Ibrox, and another trophyless season confirmed, the use of “Simply the Best” before kick-off took on a slightly hollow tone.

No missiles needed, no banners unfurled—just a perfectly timed bit of gallus fun that summed up the mood among the travelling support.
